World-famous for their incredible musical talent, the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir school offers children a highly unique educational experience. Promoting a spirit of adventure through exploration of their surrounds, the school also develops the boys mentally and musically, encouraging their natural abilities.
Concerts are held for the public every Wednesday afternoon at 3.30pm (unless they are on tour or on holiday).
Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey Center provides incredible bird of prey displays. Situated in the Champagne Valley, just 2km past the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir, the Center treats visitors to a daily show featuring various birds indigenous to South Africa. Included in the show is a presentation by falconers who demonstrate the power and speed of the falcon.

KwaZulu Weavers has become world famous for quality hand woven rugs. Based in Central Drakensberg, they weave all of their 100% wool rugs on site. Visitors can choose from their wide variety of designs and colours
- or request custom designs to be woven, which are then delivered nationwide once complete. While you’re there, browse through their selection of candles, gifts and curios.

Situated on a working farm in the Champagne Valley, Hillbilly’s provides the surrounding hotels with fresh produce.
For 1 hour every afternoon, Monday to Friday, between 3pm and 4pm, the public are invited to buy their fruit, nuts, vegetables, milk, butter, yoghurt, eggs, cheese, game meat and chickens there too. On Fridays, extra thick cream and rye bread are also available.
For scenic hot air balloon flights over the Drakensberg, Drakensberg Ballooning offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views from the Amphitheatre in the Northern Drakensberg to Giants Castle in the Southern Drakensberg.
Weather-permitting, balloons flights take off every morning from the launch site 6km from Winterton, on the road to Cathedral Peak. An amazing experience truly worth the time.
